Calendula Soap

Recently, my mom made a new type of soap. It has calendula extract in it!

Calendula, also called the pot marigold, is a pretty yellow flower that has one of the longest histories of healing. It has a very fragrant scent, and is known for its medical assets. Its oil has soothing healing effects on the skin, and is known to help irritated skin, acne issues and more.


Also, not only that, we tried out a new layering technique with purple. It looks like an aurora, sort of, so we dubbed the soap "Purple Aurora". Such a pretty name... :D

And, we stamped it! It now says "Handmade Soap". We got the stamps from Taiwan. My grandma, who is also into soap-making, sent it to us. We got alot of other cute stamps. :)


Ingredients:
3 oz Sweet Almond Oil
3 oz Castor Oil
10 oz Coconut oil
8 oz Olive Oil
8 oz Palm oil
4 oz Safflower oil
2 drops Calendula extract
2 drops Gardenia scent
2 drops Lavender scent

Solitaire

I have been playing Solitaire lately, virtual and with real cards. Whenever I use real cards I actually finish the game, and win. But whenever I play on the computer, I usually can't finish.

Until today... :D

Valentines day!

Our neighbors are master bakers, so every holiday, they bake us something special. This Valentines, they made us a feast!

Here are cream cakes, with raspberry jam. And rasberry cake that's sugar free for my dad. For my brother and me, is heart cakes. My brother's is on the left, mine is on the right.

My mom also recieved a heart pastry with the words Best friends frosted onto it, and a really cute card!

It also happens to be my brother's birthday! ^^ This is a coffee cake!

Steak Dinner

Yesterday we dined at Dina's Diner.

I ordered Parmesian Chicken, and baked potato. It was sooo good! The chicken was really tender, and yummy to eat.My brothered ordered steak, medium rare.Dessert! I had vanilla ice cream with choco-sauce...And my brother had strawberry ice cream!

At my chinese school, they were holding a fundraiser bake sale for North Thailand. My mom decided to donate some soap for them.

Soap Labeling

We're planning on donating soap, so we have to wrap the soap and label it. So, last night, me and my mom got to work!
